Growing New Bones without a Human Body

TED Fellow Nina Tandon and Sarindr Bhumiratana founded Epibone, which allows patients to 'grow their own bone.' What does that mean? A fun, zippy look at this incredible technology

EpiBone is a small startup in NYC specializing in a unique method, which allows patients to “grow their own bone.” The company utilizes a small bioreactor to produce autologous bone grafts made from data collected by CT scans as well as stem cells gathered from the patient.

EpiBone’s website informs viewers that its process “is strategically positioned to provide a superior bone graft that will provide exact defect repair, a simplified surgical procedure, improved bone formation and regeneration, and shorter recovery times.”
